How to effectively evaluate potential sexual abuse cases, determine the applicable statute of limitations and the government claims presentation requirements and navigate the varying burdens of proof applicable to cases involving both child and adult survivors of abuse. This seminar will include an in-depth discussion of the recently revised and complex CCP 340.1 (effective January 1, 2020) which extends the statute of limitations for childhood sexual abuse cases, changes the filing requirements for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and allows up to treble damages when a defendant attempts to cover up childhood sexual abuse.
