CAALA VEGAS – Annual Convention
CAALA's Annual Las Vegas Convention is the largest convention of trial attorneys in the nation. It’s been held annually in Las Vegas since 1983. The convention is an excellent opportunity to connect with over 2,800 attendees and over 140 legal service exhibit booths all in one location. Attorneys can earn up to 20 hours of continuing education during one exciting weekend in Las Vegas, including all specialty credits (Ethics, Elimination of Bias, and Competence Issues). The weekend features 20 education sessions presented by over 150 of the nation's most accomplished trial lawyers, jurists and experts covering a wide variety of practice areas and latest developments in trial advocacy. Plaintiff Trial Academy (PTA)
The CAALA Plaintiff Trial Academy (PTA) is a Civil Trial College for CAALA Attorney Members only. It provides 6 weeks of intensive training taught by a faculty of accomplished trial lawyers teaching advanced techniques in trial preparation and trial practice. Faculty demonstrations and student exercises encompass all aspects of civil trial, from effective pre-trial preparation to convincing closing arguments. Designed for plaintiff trial attorneys with 3 or more years of practice, the program consists of 15 days of intense instruction, videotaped student demonstrations, followed by critiques from the faculty in a constructive learning environment. Registration is limited to 36 students and all applicants will be screened for qualification. The application process for the CAALA PTA opens on April 1 and the first class starts in early May. CAALA is always looking for new speakers for the many educational programs it holds throughout the year. For consideration, please submit written proposals to speak at CAALA seminars or the annual convention directly to Cindy Cantu, CAALA Deputy Director: firstname.lastname@example.org. Proposals should be brief (no more than 1 paragraph) and should include the speaker’s bio (no more than 1 paragraph). The topic must be educational for attorneys, not promotional for legal services or products. Proposals are accepted on a rolling basis. Final topics and speakers are selected by the CAALA Education Committee and Officers. If selected, you will be contacted by CAALA staff. (No telephone inquiries please.)
